- Description
The trail bike with built-in fun.
The 5010 is not just our "little bike". It turns simple trails into action-packed adventure paths. It surfs every wave and scrapes every curve. The handlebars give you little superpowers at your fingertips. The 5010 has always been more powerful than most would expect. Now, with the superior 29" front wheel and upgraded rear end, it brings even more performance, fun and agility to your trails.
MX wheels
The MX setup offers the stability and control of the 29er front wheel, while the 27.5" rear wheel provides agility and an active riding style. The perfect mix for lots of off-road fun.
Glovebox
Pack everything you need under the solid flap in your down tube. The bike comes with a "Tool Wallet" and "Tube Purse" as standard. So you have everything at your fingertips.
C AND CC CARBON
We use the best materials and production methods available for our carbon frames. And because larger riders cause greater stress, we adjust the stiffness for each frame size. This is how we ensure that every rider gets the same perfect ride quality.
Window to the SAG
A small window makes it easier to tune the rear triangle. Other nice details are the mudguard that protects the shock from dirt, the neat cable routing in the frame, and the rubberised down tube guard.
Made for a long biker life
The legendary Santa Cruz workmanship and quality also make this trail toy absolutely robust and reliable. The frame and optional RESERVE wheels come with our usual lifetime warranty.
VPP™ details
The VPP™ system can be optimised for each bike so that the right balance between drive efficiency and rear end performance is always achieved. This means that if it says "VPP™", you can be sure that the rear triangle has been optimised for the exact use for which the bike is built.
130mm VPP™ travel
For some it's (too) little travel, for others it's everything they need. With 130mm of travel, you won't be able to ride as fast through the roughest rocks as you would with our V10 downhill racer, but when it comes to surfing from one corner to the next and collecting fast air miles, the 5010 comes up trumps.
Traction and chassis performance
For the 5010, we wanted to find a balance between support and grip to improve the bike's downhill capabilities. We started with a significantly lower anti-squat value (compared to the previous generation) for a more sensitive response and less pedal kickback.
Playability and support
We gave the 5010's rear end a very smooth but strong progression to give the rider plenty of predictable support, bottom-out resistance and a playful response. This means that the suspension travel is well used, but that hard hits are not passed on as directly as you would expect from a bike with short suspension travel.
