- Description
The Tallboy has built up a loyal fan base. It is the perfect companion for the quick "power hour" and for long days chasing the best trails. The sophisticated VPP™ rear triangle combines efficiency with performance. An XC bike for downhillers or even a downhill bike for XC riders.
Perfectly adapted to every size: Size-dependent geometry and frame stiffness.
Chainstay length and seat angle are matched to the frame size (the seat angle gets steeper and the rear end grows as the frame size increases), so that every rider, regardless of height, gets the same balanced geometry for best handling.
And because larger riders cause greater stresses, we adjust the stiffness for each frame size. This way we ensure that every rider gets the same perfect ride quality.
VPP™ stands for Virtual Pivot Point. This name is synonymous with performance. The countless World Cup victories prove it.
For some it's (too) little suspension travel, for others it's everything they need. With 120mm of travel, you won't be able to ride into the roughest rocks as easily as you would with its long-travel friends, but when it comes to making real trail metres and racing through the terrain, the Tallboy is in its element.
The Tallboy is quite progressive. Due to the low gear ratio at the beginning of the suspension travel, the suspension responds very well. Out the back it remains defined and controllable, giving a direct but comfortable ride.
By significantly reducing the maximum anti-squat value (compared to previous Tallboy generations), we have significantly reduced the interaction between the suspension and the drivetrain while greatly improving the response. Since the anti-squat values correlate with the anti-rise value, we were also able to lower this and minimise the braking influences on the new Tallboy.
